Drop-off classes designed for 7–12-year-old students who thrive in an outdoor learning environment and love to learn in a hands-on, experiential setting.
We offer a 3-hour block learning experience built around two units: Trailblazers and Roots. Spanish isn't a separate subject — it's woven into both! Living books are woven in too, Charlotte Mason style — real stories and real narratives instead of textbooks, in both units.
Trailblazers
Think Lewis and Clark meets a design studio in the woods. Kids grab a journal, head into the trees, and start exploring — sketching, mapping, noticing. Just like Lewis and Clark cataloged new plants and species on their expedition, students dig into real botany, ecology, and biology out on the trail — naming what they find, learning how it grows, and seeing how it all fits together. That curiosity inspires design, and design leads to construction: sketch a plan, then build using local and native materials straight from the land — forts, hideouts, garden spaces, whatever they dream up.
Hiking, moving, playing outside is baked right in — it's how they gather what they'll map and build next.

Roots
Welcome to a season on the land — through a kid's eyes. Students become junior stewards, learning how soil, plants, and animals all work together the way regenerative farmers do it: healthy soil biology first, everything else follows. That means real permaculture, real animal husbandry, and real agriculture — growing food, tending the land, and understanding where a meal actually comes from. It's mud, animals, and growing things — the good kind of hands-on.
And what grows out of farm life naturally grows into craft: cheesemaking, food preservation, sewing, and art inspired by the land itself. On a working farm, the making and the growing have always gone hand in hand — this unit gives kids that experience.

Pricing:
$165/month for one day per week (~$12/hour)
$300/month for both days (~$10.50/hour)

Located under the ponderosa pines at Sweet Mercy Farm, we will spend our days surrounded by chickens, llamas, goats, cows, organically grown produce, and the simple wide-open. We believe that the best learning opportunities happen outdoors as we explore and create. When in need of shelter, we utilize our log cabin.
